Make your first stop at My Loi Market, located in an ancient village with a history dating back to before 1669. Walk through a traditional village market, meet elderly locals (70–80 years old) who still earn their living every morning, and taste authentic local cakes such as banh bot loc, banh la gai, and banh ram it. Your driver accompanies you like a local guide, helping with communication and sharing insights when needed.
Next, head to An Bang Village, often referred to as the “City of Ghost.” Discover massive tombs worth 1–2 billion VND, built while their owners are still alive. See a striking contrast between simple daily life and grand, elaborate tomb architecture. Witness rare scenes such as buffalo-drawn carts transporting sand, a traditional method still in use today.
From An Bang, head toward Lap An Lagoon via a quiet coastal road, completely avoiding busy highways. Along this scenic route, experience low mountain passes hugging the lagoon, wide open views of the Tam Giang lagoon system, and the freedom to stop for photos and enjoy the fresh air. Pass small lagoon villages where locals sell fresh oysters just harvested from the lagoon and maintain a slow, traditional rural lifestyle.
After Lap An Lagoon, continue your journey with a lunch at a local restaurant (guest’s choice or driver’s recommendation). Drive over the iconic Hai Van Pass, where you can clearly see the weather boundary between Hue and Da Nang. Stop at a local fishing village in Da Nang, peaceful and non-touristy.
Observe wild monkeys living naturally on the Son Tra Peninsula. Monkeys are protected in their natural habitat, and you’ll have free access, with no zoo, for natural observation and photo opportunities. This is a genuine wildlife experience without cages. Visit Linh Ung Pagoda, and make an optional stop at Marble Mountains, or continue directly to Hoi An Ancient Town.
