Description
Discover an unforgettable experience by cooking authentic Lombok cuisine for lunch at a local's house, followed by a walk in the countryside to see the activities of the villagers in the rice fields, and visiting the Benang Kelambu waterfall as the highlight of this tour.
The experience begins with a pick-up from customer hotel in Lombok.
Customer will attend a cooking class at a kitchen local's house in Lendang Tengari Village in Central Lombok, located at Salman's House, an hour from Mataram City or 30 minutes from Benang Kelambu waterfall.
Typical Lombok dishes to be prepared include:
- Perkedel (fried corn fritters) made from corn, flour, salt, shallots, and garlic.
- Vegetable curry (long beans, long beans, leafy vegetables, and coconut milk).
- Gado-gado (water spinach, peanuts, bean sprouts, shrimp paste, and garlic).
- Tofu and tempeh.
- Urap Timun (cucumber, grated old coconut, shallots, garlic, and chilies).
- Sayur Bening (clear vegetable soup) made from corn, spinach, salt, and water).
- Sambal Tomat (tomatoes, chilies, shallots, salt, and shrimp paste).
After the food is ready, customers immediately dine on the cooked lunch. Customer will enjoy lunch with white rice and the traditional way, sitting cross-legged on the floor.
After lunch, customers will take a walk around the village, accompanied by a local guide, to observe the villagers' activities at rice field, such as hoeing, planting and harvesting rice, and farmers cultivating peanuts, corn, or soybeans (depending on the season).
While in the rice fields, customers are allowed to participate in hands-on rice planting and harvesting. The duration for cooking class and walking around village is approximately 3 hours.
Since there's still time, customer will visit Benang Kelambu Waterfall, which is a 30-minute drive from the cooking class local's house.
After arriving at the Benang Kelambu Waterfall parking lot, customers will walk 30 minutes from the gate to the waterfall. While at the waterfall, customers are allowed to take photos and videos, and bathe in the waterfall. customers will be at the waterfall for a maximum of 45 minutes.
Afterward, guests will walk back to the parking lot for 30 minutes.
Afterward, guests will be taken back to their hotel, concluding the tour.
