Description

Embark on a 2-day trek to the summit of Mount Rinjani, the second-highest volcano in Indonesia. Enjoy the stunning views of the surrounding area, including the Segara Anak Lake, Sembalun village, and the summit of Mount Rinjani. Day 1: After breakfast, transfer to Sembalun village in a mountain car. Arrive at the Rinjani Information Center (RIC) and Post 1 (Monitoring Post) for registration. Take a rest at Post 1 and continue to Post 2 (Tengengean) for a short break. Continue to Post 3 (Pada Balong) and take a rest for 2 hours. Enjoy a lunch and a hot drink (tea, coffee, hot chocolate, or lemon tea). Continue to Sembalun Crater Rim (Pelawangan Sembalun) for 3 hours, including a prolonged steep climb. Spend the night camping at Sembalun Crater Rim and enjoy the views of the sunset and sunrise over the Segara Anak Lake, Sembalun village, and the summit of Mount Rinjani. Day 2: Wake up at 2:30 AM to catch the sunrise and have a light breakfast. Start the trek to the Rinjani summit at 3:00 AM. The first stage is a moderate climb for 2 hours, while the second stage is a fairly easy but long trek. The last hour is very steep and difficult. From the summit of Mount Rinjani, see all of Lombok island, Bali, Mt. Tambora in Sumbawa, and Segara Anak Lake. After sunrise, go down to the Sembalun Crater Rim and have breakfast. After breakfast and a rest, continue to go down to Sembalun village for 4-5 hours. Have some lunch in Post 3 or 2 and arrive in Sembalun village at noon. The car is waiting to bring you to Senaru village, where the trip ends.
