Take a break for 5-10 minutes, then continue the journey to POS-2 (1,500 meters) for about an hour. Take a short break, then continue the hike to POS-3 (1,800 meters) for an hour.
We take a 2-hour break at POS-3 and have lunch with warm drinks such as tea, coffee, hot chocolate, or lemon tea. After lunch and rest, continue trekking to Lingkar Kawah Sembalun (2,639 meters) for about 3 hours. Spend the night at Lingkar Kawah Sembalun. Enjoy the stunning sunset panorama, Segara Anak lake, and most of North Lombok Island.
Day 2
We will wake up at 1:30 am with coffee or tea and a light breakfast. After you eat, we will start the climb to the summit to see the sunrise.
Typically, the climb to the summit takes about 3 hours, depending on how fast we walk. We will be hiking in the dark, so it is important to bring a flashlight for this part. The climb to the summit has many sections consisting of sand and gravel and some of the most tiring parts, but our guide will be with you the entire way to help you.
During the trip, you will be treated to beautiful views of Bali, Sumbawa, and all of Lombok and the Gilis. Once we reach the summit of Mount Rinjani at 3,726 meters, we will take some time to rest and take pictures.
Upon returning to the campsite on the edge of the crater after the summit, our porter will prepare breakfast for you. After breakfast, we will start the journey back down to Sembalun Village.
