Description
Your journey begins with an adrenaline-pumping adventure to Jomblang Cave, an ancient vertical cave hidden beneath the Gunungkidul volcano. With full safety equipment, you'll be lowered 60 meters using a single rope to reach the cave floor, lush with ancient vegetation. From there, you'll walk through a vast, dark passageway to Grubug Cave, where the legendary 'Light of Heaven' phenomenon awaits. Watch in awe as sunlight penetrates the cave's ceiling, creating a magical pillar of light that cuts through the darkness amidst the mist—a photogenic moment you won't find anywhere else in the world.
After returning to the surface and enjoying a hearty local lunch, the journey continues to Pindul Cave. Here, the tension gives way to blissful relaxation. You'll relax on an inner tube (river tubing) while following the calm current of an underground river. As you float, your guide will explain the unique stalactite and stalagmite formations, including giant pillars that have formed over thousands of years. Flashlights will reveal the beauty of the rock crystals on the cave walls before you finally emerge into the open, refreshing river.
