Soma Vita
Lombok and Gilis
At a glance
Soma Vita is the wellness house at KOHO Air on Gili Air, designed around recovery, relaxation and structured wellbeing sessions. Its approach combines heat, cold, minerals, light, hydration and breathwork under one roof, with individual treatments available alongside a set circuit. The setting suits travellers seeking a slower, restorative element during a stay in Lombok and the Gilis.
The signature circuit follows a fixed sequence rather than treating each modality as a separate menu of options. It begins with around 15 minutes in the sauna, followed by a brief ice bath, a shaded rest period and further rounds if suitable. A magnesium jacuzzi session completes the sequence. The full circuit takes about 90 minutes, with the order intended to support a gradual transition between heat, cold, rest and mineral soaking.
Individual sessions include ice bathing for recovery and mental clarity, sauna time, magnesium soaking, red light therapy, IV and vitamin drips, and guided breathwork. The red light studio uses red and near-infrared wavelengths, with sessions focused on skin, joints and recovery after time in the sun. IV treatments provide hydration and selected vitamins through a qualified nurse, while breathwork takes place in an open pavilion and is designed to leave participants calm rather than lightheaded.
The atmosphere is practical and unhurried, with the emphasis on a considered routine rather than intensity. Towels, robes, sandals and lockers are available, while swimwear is the required clothing for the circuit. The venue recommends a light meal beforehand, plenty of water before and after, and avoiding alcohol on circuit days. IV drips require advance arrangement and a health form.
Soma Vita is suited to adults interested in recovery-focused wellness, travellers adjusting after a long journey, and guests looking to add structured spa time to a Gili Air stay. The circuit is for guests aged 18 and over, while the wider spa follows the hotel’s 14-plus policy. Medical considerations matter, particularly for cold immersion, so cardiac conditions, pregnancy and blood pressure medication should be discussed with the therapists before treatment.
