Lombokandgilis
Gili Trawangan is the largest of the three Gili Islands on the north west coast of Lombok and one of the most renowned hot spots for scuba diving. DSM offer a number of fun dives for short term visitors to get a taste for the underwater world. Based in the shallower waters it'll feel as warm as bath water with sea temperatures around 23-29 degrees Celsius. Leaving in small groups at either 9am, 10am, 11.30am, 1.30pm or 6.30pm you can expect to see sharks, turtles, octopus and moray eels galore.
As well as this, they offer longer PADI courses and whether you opt for the standard Scuba Diver certification or the Advanced Open Water award you'll be accompanied by the best dive masters around.
Top spots to visit include Shark Point where the slope of corals is often home to sharks, green and hawksbill turtles as well as snapper and barracuda. Or if the fear of the fin is too much for you, the Coral Fan Garden makes you feel like you're in an aquarium, with tropical, colourful fish flitting around in vast amounts.
