Asmara Collection

Run as part of the Asmara Group, at Asmara Collection you can expect to find carefully selected and good quality handcrafted items from Indonesia. Run by Sophie and Bakar Mulahella, the collection is updated frequently, which includes new designs as well as older pieces. The products are especially handmade in Lombok, Bali, Java and Sumba by experts, with the craftsmen and women using natural materials and methods that have been passed down through generations; the products are also sometimes given a little modern twist. Products available include hand-woven textiles and baskets, earthenware pottery, bamboo and wood carvings and palm leaf boxes. The collection is renowned amongst the Indonesian Archipelago as well as being recognised internationally. Some of Sophie and Bakar's favourite items in the collection includes hand-woven cushions, a small lidded casserole dish, a palm wood salad servers, spatula and spoon set and a round table showing examples of handcrafted wooden art. Most of the textiles are dyed using natural products such as indigo, roots and barks.
